Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Whether you celebrate it or not, you must admit it is a special time of year and everyone is so warm and kind around this time of year.
Top by Gemma (Madison Marcus' little sister brand) // Skirt by Tucker (similar here) // Belt from Korea // Falke tights // Sigerson Morrison booties (loving the leather/suede combo on this one)
A sparkly present from the Mr.
Another Christmas present to myself - a Miu Miu coat. The applique/cut out details on the front was too difficult to resist. This was present number #### to myself this year. Sigh...a girl can never have too many ___ (fill in the blank). :)
Christmas caviar nails - Ciate in mistress with microbeads in merry from Michael's.
Christmas floral - red and white freesia's with berries, poinsettia with gold dust leaves and pinkish red orchid (shown below)
Simple table setting - plates, glasses, cutlery and goodie bags. We always host family-style meals so there is no point in cluttering the table with huge centre pieces only having to de-clutter come meal time.
The anatomy of our Cheese + Meat Plate - Camebert and brie cheeses with prosciutto and Tuscany salami from our trip to Florence
The food
For starters, we served mini mandarin oranges, Korean meatballs, cheese and meat plate, assorted crackers, assorted olives and pickles and citrus chamomile tea.
For mains, we served spaghetti vongolle, orange garlic pork chops, spinach and mushroom with truffle oil and sauteed green beans and broccolini.
Finally, for sweets, we served mixed exotic fruits/berries (lychee, jack fruit, longan, rambutan), macarons from Soirette, cupcake chocolates from my friend Dorothy (gift exchange), apple pie and blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream.
It was a lot of work to prep and cook everything but the reward was pretty great - a delicious meal shared with loved ones.
