OOTD (Weekend Edition) - Denim Vest, Zac Posen sweater

Hope everyone has had a great weekend (Happy Memorial Day for my US friends). Mine was filled with playtime with my French Bulldog puppy. And of course it would not be a weekend if I did not buy a new shirt for Georges so he is showing off his new red Adidas hoodie. His clothing collection will be as big as mine soon.

I forgot to bring a UV filter so the photos turned out a little over exposed, but I think they add a little vintage touch to the photos. 

I must admit, I feel a little bad-ass with these Vans and denim vest on. 
I am experimenting with more casual clothes for this summer. 

 

Celine Mini Luggage in forest green and black. This bag weighs a ton but it is the perfect work and weekend bag. It holds all my documents and shopping goods. And it has a constipated robot face - how cute! :)

Car Shoe flats - I love the multi-colour stripes, gold trim and wooden beads. 

They add so much fun to any outfit.

Sequin Skirt Styling Challenge - Look Five & NOTW

Sorry this post is a little delayed. As usual, work is really crazy busy. Not to bore you, but we are trying to secure money to build a few hotels so it's taken up a lot of my time this past week. 

This marks the final outfit of the Zara sequin skirt challenge.

It was so much fun playing dress up and taking photos with my good friend Susan. She did an amazing job capturing all the shots I wanted for these outfits. Thanks Susan! Because we've had so much success with this first shoot, we will be doing a balloon photoshoot together in the coming future so stay tuned for that.

Inside My Closet - Costume Jewelry

I always find it challenging keeping track of everything, especially when I have some things in the main bedroom tucked away in boxes and some things displayed in the second bedroom. Anyway, here is a little sneak peek into my costume jewelry collection and how I display/store them. Maybe when I hit 200+ followers, I'll share with you the rest, including my fine jewelry and watches. :)

I use a large breakfast-in-bed-tray to display the statement or larger necklaces.

The tray is by Indigo from Chapters.

One of my treasured piece is this vintage turquoise beaded necklace, passed down from my granny.

Umbra acrylic stand to hold more random necklaces. // White China basket from The Cross Design and Anthropologie brass holder (similar larger version here) to hold my bangles and cuffs. Squirrel box from The Cross Design to hold my rings // Antique brass and glass box from a home furnishing store in South Hampton (forgot the name) to hold all the other bracelets. And a couple of Hello Kitty dolls to make things interesting.

For look four of the sequin skirt challenge, I wanted to re-live sports day by visiting a nearby track and baseball field for some faux-running and fencing. Hope you are enjoying looking at the photos as I have creating them.

A little history on these shoes - I actually found them by surprise. I was in Payless on Robson to buy shoe laces and saw these for about $40/50. They are 5" tall but are so comfortable - I can hike Mt. Kilimanjaro if I want to (maybe).

Sequin Skirt Styling Challenge - Look Three

This look is perfect for a Friday outfit - it can take me from work straight into evening. It's a little glitzy for work but who cares, life is short.  I love this Maison Scotch tweed jacket. It took me a while to track it in my size. I am glad I found it because I love all the pom pom and turquoise stone detailing. It wasn't crazy expensive  but it is very well made, even the lining on the sleeves and the body are different fabric. When they pay that much attention to the inside, you know they put a lot of care into the garment.

Sequin Skirt Styling Challenge - Look Two

Hello everyone! It's hump day (three more days till the long weekend!).

Okay, on to outfit two of the sequin skirt challenge. This look was inspired by my Sandro sweater. The sweater has little subtle sequins all over and I wanted my feet to shine as well so paired this outfit with my glitter no prive Christian Louboutin. I have no shame in wearing sparkles all over. :) And I think this would be an outfit that Serena from Gossip Girl would wear. It's tres UES. No?
