Electric Blue

We've been so fortunate to have real summer weather in Vancouver lately.  The arrival of warm weather has also meant that I have been able to wear more of my summer wardrobe. Blue has been a favourite colour of mine for quite some time but little did I know that I had collected so many blue tops over the years. This one by Leifsdottir that I had purchased from Neiman Marcus in Vegas a couple of years ago is so much fun. It's so airy and so well crafted with all the crepe ruffles on the mini sleeves. During the same trip, I also picked up an electric blue flats, with no intention to match it with the top but this match-matchy outfit turned out kind of fun; wouldn't you agree?

Celine Fall and Winter 2013 Bags

Have you seen the Fall 2013 and Winter 2013 Celine bags? What do you think about the collection? For Celine Winter 2013, they have added a few new styles including the newest tote bag dubbed the "Tie" bag. To me, it looks like the offspring of Celine Phantom and Hermes Birkin. Thoughts? Other new additions include the Berlingot Twisted Clutch, the Fortune Cookie shoulder bag and the new Hobo bag. Which is your all-time favorite Celine bag (past or present)?

Celine Fall 2013

 

Celine Box Bag in medium, emerald crocodile leather...drools...could be "to die for" in black croc.

 

I was never a big fan of the Celine Edge bag but the navy croc makes it a little desirable

 

Celine Blade bag. The perfect shopping bag - large enough to carry your wallet, phone, keys, etc without taking up too much arm space. So you could have room to hold all your shopping bags.

Celine Winter 2013

The Tie Bag in black croc. I am un-sure about this until I see it in person.

 

The timeless Celine Mini Luggage in tri-colour. I love these neutral colours together. I want a slice of chocolate-coffee cake after looking at it.

Paint the field red + H&M Isabel Marant News

I havn't done an outfit post in awhile. Now that the rain spell in Vancouver has temporarily ended, I took advantage of the sunshine and snapped some photos. I've been on vacation the past few weeks so will be posting photos from London and Paris along with some shopping and tourist tips soon. To see and read about my visit to Marrakech, click here.

I wear a lot of colours. My closet is a colour schizophrenic mess but red remains my all time favourite colour of choice. What's your favourite colour?

Instagram Volume 1

I have finally converted to an iPhone 5 (a few weeks ago now) and have since become an Instagram addict.

Beloved Valentino rockstud platform sandals. I am head over heels for this and this. :)

Elie Tahari boots and Chanel hobo. The round base of this bag allows me to stuff so much into it and the wider shoulder strap doesn't make carrying all that "stuff" a chore.

There is a story behind these boots. I was in New York with my girlfriends 3 years ago and I saw these boots on the clearance rack at Barneys and they were already on sale for $595 from $795. The sign on the rack says "Take an additional 50% off". And I thought I had scored BIG so immediately brought the boots to the cash register. To my disappointment, they were misplaced and NOTon clearance. I was already too much in love with them and bought them anyways.

When Chanel released the Le Boy bag in 2011, I hated it.  Well, it's a different story now. I think this bag is the perfect blend of classic and new Chanel style and it is so appropriate to wear with casual outfits. She was shipped to me from Chanel Paris (the Avenue Montaigne store to be exact).

Trusty work totes. Stylish and functional. Fendi Peekaboo and Celine Mini Luggage. Thinking of this Valentino tote or this Mulberry Baywater in snakeprint next.

Balenciaga wedge sandals (lusting over these Burberry's) and Wolford tights with metallic threading for a bit of funk.

New Alaia heels (quite loving these Givenchy's). Have not worn them yet; will report back on whether or not they are worth breaking the bank for.

Sexy cut out Chanel booties. I am starting a bad addiction with two-tone colour shoes.

I drew inspiration from my Marc by Marc Jacobs lap top bag.

Aztec print DIY nail art. The base is Ciate in Speed Dial and I used Sharpie ultra fine point marker in red, purple and black to draw the prints.

This one was inspired by the MAC holiday packaging.

I went out for tea with my boyfriend's mom and sister so didn't have time to shoot myself in these.

Some pretty and classic Chanel pieces my mom gave me: Chanel jacket, Chanel No. 5 and Coco perfume, a grey original reissue 2.55 flap bag from 2005 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Chanel flap bag.

I only walked away with a lip gloss and an eye liner.  Some of the colours were either too similar to what I already have or too goth.

How To: Decide Which Celine Bag To Buy

Hi Everyone, thanks for all your support and for reading my blog. Since I have had a lot of comments on my Celine bag and a lot of questions from friends and people on the streets asking about the size, price, where to buy, etc etc....I thought I'd write a post about it.

First off, the model that I have is the Celine Mini Luggage (tote), measuring 12" W x 12" H x 7" D (excluding wings). It is a bi-colour (forest green and black) in lamb skin on the interior and calf leather on the exterior. See my Mini Luggage here and here.

As nerdy as it will sound, I actually did a lot of research before purchasing the bag. The reasons being there are just so many styles, sizes, colour combinations and types of leather to choose from. Where would one begin, right? It is also next to impossible to find it in store so I couldn't even touch one before giving away my credit card number to some stranger overseas! Now that I've done all the leg work and got the bag I wanted, I am sharing with you my compiled research.

The ever popular Luggage (smallest to largest) - Nano; Micro; Mini; Shoulder; Medium.
Nano - 8″H x 8″W x 4″D  | $1,950+

Leather: 

Palmeleto Leather, hand-drummed smooth calf leather; the same variation as mine. This leather is famous for being used on the finest handbags, such as Celine Classic Box bags and those by Hermes.
The interior of all palmeleto leather exterior is lamb skin making the bag very luxrious but heavy at times. This luxury also adds to the price tag but I tell you, it is worth every penny.

Pebbled Leather which is also calf leather but it is treated differently so it looks more like its raw form with more texture. The interior material paired with this leather is PL, also known as polyester or alcantara which gives off the appearance and feel of the material  to that of suede. It supposedly is tougher and does not cause the bag to slouch, but the thought of polyester and Celine together is offensive. =/

Past collections included pieces in leathers like baby buffalo, suede, Mongolian lamb, striped flannel, python and crocodile skin.  The croc-suede combo was asking $16,000a pop.
